Dr. Partha Pratim Roy
As we celebrate the centennial anniversary of Prabhat Kumar College, Contai, I am honoured to reflect on the rich legacy of our History Department. Since 1926, we have been privileged to shape minds, inspire curiosity and foster a deeper understanding of our shared human experience. Since 1958, our department has been elevated to impart Honours level studies in History and committed to excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement. We have produced generations of critical thinkers, scholars and leaders who have made lasting impacts in various fields. Today, our students continue to excel in academic and extracurricular pursuits, fuelled by the dedication and expertise of our faculty. Our department remains steadfast in its commitment to nurture a culture of intellectual curiosity and critical inquiry, exploring the complexities of the past to inform the present and shape the future and fostering empathy, tolerance, and global citizenship. As we embark on our next century, I invite you to join me in celebrating our achievements and legacy, embracing innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration and strengthening our connections with the community and beyond. Last but not least, I want to thank teaching and student fraternity for their tireless efforts, unwavering commitment and passion for the study of history.
