About the Webinar:
As a result of global Pandemic, Educational Institutions barely by choice but by obligation are on the verge of embracing online education as a response to the disruption caused in education. However, a mere paradigm shift from offline to online mode would not be a rational and utilitarian alternative to address the commotion in education. In this connection, it is very  imperative to understand the discourse of ‘Digital Divide’. Despite the sharp rise in technology access and stupendous advantages of online education in the developing countries, one must recognize how the digital divide or the separation between those who have access to, and can effectively use technology, and those who do not is getting wider and how this growing gap between the information rich and information poor will engender more discrimination and inequality in education. Additionally, it is also necessary to explore and understand the readiness of the educational institutions from multiple perspectives to create spaces for online education by engaging in authentic dialogue about various significant variables that may wider digital divide and impede effective online education.
