Department of Physics in this college was established with I.S.C. in 1947. The Honours course in Physics was introduced in the year 1963. The Department, since inception, was affiliated to the University of Calcutta, In 1987 it got affiliated to the Vidyasagar University. Till date, the department is successful to retain its fame. The Department began offering P.G. Course in Physics from 2006. A large number of ex-students of this department are working at various reputed Institutions in India and abroad. The concerted effort of teaching and non-teaching staff and the cordial relationship among all concerned with the department are the secrets of the success.
