Greetings from the Department of Education, Prabhat Kumar College, Contai. 

                           The Department of Education of the Prabhat Kumar College, has started its journey in 2016 with very few students of undergraduate programme in education. I have joined the Department of Education as the second Head of the Department on 2nd January, 2021. I am immensely pleased as well as excited to take up this new role and responsibility of heading one of the newly established and fastest growing Departments of the college. 

Our college is the oldest College of Purba Medinipur District.The Department of Education is working very hard towards the goal of providing innovative and quality education with high standard to achieve academic excellence in field of education.All the faculty members of this department are well qualified, trained and passionate about teaching, research and academic extension activities. The prime aim of the department is to provide quality and positive education with outmost care to promote problem solving skills,diverse thinking capacity, innovation skills, and social consciousness among the students. 

I personally believe that the process of learning and thekind of education and training that a student receives is extremely important in life. These play a crucial role in developing one’s intellectual capability, personal independency, social competency, emotional resilience, moral position and adjustment skills in work place. 

I hope and firmly believe that the Department of Education by ensuring excellent infrastructure, qualified and well-trained faculty members, inclusive learning environments, advanced and comprehensive curriculum, inclusive pedagogy, democratic, need-based and sensible interaction among students, parents and teachers, can promote “… education by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased, the intellect is expanded, and by which one can stand on one’s own feet” (Swami Vivekananda). 

Within a very short span of time, agood number of our brilliant students have taken admission in courses of higher studies in various institutes of repute across the country. Thus, we are confident that our students will emerge as assets not only to this department and venerated college of years old but also to the country at large.
