OVERVIEW

Nutrition & Dietetics is an important field of study over the globe. A healthy lifestyle has become a major priority in the quest for meaningful living and, as all the experts tell us, nutrition is its anchor. To eat is a necessity, but to eat intelligently is an art.   Nutrition is the only remedy that can bring full recovery and can be used with any treatment. Remember, food is our best medicine. Exercise is king. Nutrition is queen. Put them together and you've got a kingdom. Looking good and feeling good go hand in hand. If you have a healthy lifestyle, your diet and nutrition are set, and you're working out, you're going to feel good. The first wealth is health. Diet is the essential key to all successful healing. Without a proper balanced diet, the effectiveness of herbal treatment is very limited. The doctor of the future will no longer treat the human frame with drugs, but rather will cure and prevent disease with nutrition.The college started the Department of Nutrition as a General subject in 2006. In course of time, the department is elevated to the Honours Course.

  • To provide education not only to acquire knowledge but also to inculcate all round development.
  • To encourage self-evaluation, personality development and guide the students to strive towards perfection and competence.
  • Department of Nutrition provides excellent teaching and learning environment with its focus on continuing education.
  • To train a cadre of professionals who work as teachers, researchers, public health nutritionists, dietitians, nutrition consultants, food quality control officers and experts in the development of innovative food products.

OBJECTIVES

The larger objective is the creation of nutrition awareness through community outreach for the promotion of a healthy lifestyle among the population so that they lead a healthy and wealthy life.
