Sanskrit is the mother of all languages in India. This language is well-nurtured in college. The result of Sanskrit both in Honours and General levels are highly satisfactory with students securing top positions on the University merit list regularly. The department of Sanskrit started in 1940, more than 75 years ago. In 1970 Honours course and in 2013 Masters in Sanskrit were implemented. The college was then run under the Calcutta University. Later the college was affiliated with Vidyasagar University in the year of 1985. The result of the department is overall satisfactory. This language is highly cultured and cultivated in our college. Workshop more than 15 days is done in our college so that the students may speak Sanskrit fluently and spontaneously.
