Our Alma Mater-Our Pride

PKC Physics Alumni Consortium

 

With the reminiscence of the sweet memories of our beloved Alma Mater, P K College, we, the Ex- Students of the Dept. of Physics, on 11 October 2020 through an on-line meeting have constituted an organization for alumni styled as P K College Physics Alumni Consortium to provide a common platform to every alumnus to remain seamlessly connected to his/her alma mater.

 

Objectives

  • To foster linkages amongst the alumni and promote personal and friendly relations.
  • To provide avenues for drawing upon the knowledge and expertise of the alumni and contributing financially to facilitate the Department as a centre of excellence.
  • To create a forum to exchange views and experiences and share it with the present students.
  • To act as a bridge between the existing students and the alumni for interaction on new developments / concepts in different disciplines of Physics through the proper dissemination of knowledge via lectures / seminars / workshops / symposia.
  • To organize lectures by Alumni for the existing students on different career opportunities, personality development, interview technique etc

 

 

Activities

  • To arrange reunions and other events to facilitate interaction amongst the alumni.
  • To publish e-magazines for the publicity and dissemination of information.
  • To take effective steps for organising lectures / seminars / workshops / symposia in different disciplines of Physics.
  • To offer stipend, scholarship and fellowship in order to broaden the ways of higher education for the poor and meritorious students.
  • To formulate policies and necessary by-laws for proper operation and management of the organization.
  • Where necessary and if required, to take donation in the forms of movable and immovable items to augment the facilities of the Department.

Inaugural Ceremony [Date: 16/01/2021]

On January 16, 2021 (Saturday) at 5 pm the debut of our consortium was organised through an Inaugural Ceremony (via an online platform, Google Meet) with the august presence of Prof. Samit Kumar Ray, Professor, Dept. of Physics & Meteorology, IIT, Kharagpur and Director, S. N. Bose Centre for Basic Sciences (SNBCBS), as the Inaugurator and presented his valuable deliberation on this gala occasion. The glorious presence of the Principal of P. K. College, Contai as the Chief Guest enlightened the Ceremony. Honourable Head, Teaching and Non-teaching Staff of the Dept. of Physics of the College were also attended as the Special Guests.

Commemoration of the 144th Birthday of Albert Einstein [Date: 15/03/2022]

On March 15, 2022 (Tuesday) at 02 pm a seminar on 'Recent advancement in quantum photonics' organized by Department of Physics (UG & PG), Prabhat Kumar College, Contai in association with P. K. College Physics Alumni Consortium, on the occasion of Commemoration of the 144th Birthday (March 14, 2022) of Albert Einstein.
