Theme of the Seminar :
The proposed topic of the Seminar in the Department of Philosophy of the College seems to have a wide coverage that is taken into account. The three concepts (Tradition, Religion and Morality) , as stated in the topic, do have different connotations, on the basis of analysis and reasoning , do refer also to some similarity. “Tradition “is originally an English word. Its lexical meaning and also meaning in usage shows multiple suggestions and their usages are determined contextually. So also it goes with the neighboring concepts: Religion and Morality. In Indian classical traditions one comes across of Sanskrit language shows as the basic one, though the meaning contained in that linguistic source has been adopted (with little variations) amidst certain similarities of course in number of other linguistics. However, groups, such meaning despite the outward similarities, refer to certain meaningful differences and divergences, mostly depending upon cultural heritage. The discussion, to be takenup in the Seminar, is hoped to the quite fruitful and productive keeping in mind with the socio moral relevance in the present day -to -day life. It specially helps the inquisitive future students and researchers in different social disciplines.
